Monday Motivation: Fitness Motivation

Well it’s that time of year again! It’s March. Spring and summer are just around the corner, and it’s time to get back into shape! After a long winter full of holiday foods, stressful family get-togethers, and attempting to keep your new year resolutions, I know it can be hard to find that motivation to get back and go to the gym, wake up early to do some yoga, or go out for a jog or walk in the evening. It’s not an easy thing. Getting fit and healthy is a big task, and anyone who tells you otherwise is just blinded by the fact that they’ve already done it. And good for them! They should be proud of themselves, and you should be too – every time you don’t hit snooze on your alarm, walk into the gym before or after work, or choose a salad for lunch instead of the burger and fries you really want, that’s cause to celebrate and give yourself a pat on the back. But for those mornings after late night homework or being up with a crying baby, or those nights after a long day at work when your couch sounds so much better than a treadmill, here are some motivational quotes to help you keep your goals, heath, fitness, and opportunities in mind.

Monday Motivation

Happy Monday! It’s a new day and a new week, so let’s make the best of it! Here’s some motivation to get you through the week.

Monday Motivation…yes, I know it’s Wednesday.

So I failed again. I’m very sorry for being two days late on this week’s posts, but I had a horrible Monday, a busy Tuesday, and now it’s 12:40am on Wednesday and I’m finally making time to blog. Anyway, without further adieu, here is your “Monday” motivation.

Tuesday Ten: Favorite Quotes

I love quotes. I love advice from wise people. And I love sharing these things. There are a lot of people out there that can make sense of what you can’t, or who can take the thoughts in your head and turn them into what you’ve wanted to say all along. Some people are just good with words. Here is a list of ten of my most favorite quotes. These quotes speak to me – I believe in them, and they’ve either helped me through some things in life, given me some direction, or been exactly what I’ve felt or thought at some point in my life. Hopefully you can take some wisdom from these as well.

  1. “Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)
  2. “Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.”
    — Margaret Shepherd
  3. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
    ― Steve Jobs
  4. “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
    — Henry Ford
  5. “Finish your day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
    ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
  6. “Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet. Cherish them.”
    — Unknown
  7. “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
    ― Audrey Hepburn
  8. “To me, “FEARLESS” is not the absence of fear. It’s not being completely unafraid. To me, FEARLESS is having fears. FEARLESS is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, FEARLESS is living in spite of those things that scare you to death. FEARLESS is falling madly in love again, even though you’ve been hurt before. FEARLESS is walking into your freshmen year of high school at fifteen. FEARLESS is getting back up and fighting for what you want over and over again… even though every time you’ve tried before, you’ve lost. It’s FEARLESS to have faith that someday things will change. FEARLESS is having the courage to say goodbye to someone who only hurts you, even if you can’t breathe without them. I think it’s FEARLESS to fall for your best friend, even though he’s in love with someone else. And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think loving someone despite what people think is FEARLESS. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’s FEARLESS too. But no matter what love throws at you, you have to believe in it. You have to believe in love stories and prince charmings and happily ever after. That’s why I write these songs. Because I think love is FEARLESS.”
    ― Taylor Swift
  9. “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
    — Joseph Campbell
  10. “You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”
    — Steve Jobs (2005 Stanford Commencement Speech)
