It’s Friday, But I’m Still Thankful: Opportunities

I’m not rich. My family is by no means wealthy. But we aren’t poor either. I went to public school, I’ve had to work hard, and so has my family. But we’ve also had a lot of opportunities. Some because of luck, some because of fate, and some because we’ve worked our asses off to get them. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that life has offered me, even if I didn’t realize them at first, or take advantage of them when I should have. I am very blessed to have the life I have today, and to have a shot at the kind of future that I have a shot at. Sometimes, you just need to take a step back, breathe, and look at what life has given you over the years. Sure, things may not have been easy, but within all of the craziness, there were lessons, amazing memories, and great opportunities.

Thursday Thanks: Our Protectors

This week, I am most thankful for the men and women who make it their life’s work to protect our people and our country. This includes the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and the people who run these branches, as well as those who work in the White House analyzing threats, making decisions, and doing their best to keep our country safe. But my gratitude extends even further. I am also so thankful for all of the police, fire fighters, security guards, paramedics, and other people of those categories who risk their lives every day to help us and keep us protected. No matter how small the job may seem, these people put their lives on the line for ours. And that is something that should not go unnoticed.

Late Thursday Thanks

This week I would like to talk about how thankful I am for my boyfriend. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life. No boyfriend has ever taken care of me, worried about me, or loved me like he does. He is the sweetest guy who always has nothing but good intentions. While the majority of our relationship is a long distance one, his kind heart and caring personality makes up for it. He’s always there when I need him and I know that I can count on him even from two states away. I am so incredibly lucky to be dating someone as wonderful as Jim.

Thursday Thanks

This week, I am thankful to have the majority of my family living nearby. Because we’ve all lived around the same area, I’ve been lucky enough to grow up with a fantastic support system and a close-knit family. I feel so blessed to be able to see my family during the holidays, on their birthdays, and many of the days in between. I feel like I can talk to my family about anything, and I know that is not something that everyone feels. Taking a look back at my childhood and all of the wonderful memories that I have, I can’t help but be extra thankful that so many of those memories include family members.
