Well it’s that time of year again! It’s March. Spring and summer are just around the corner, and it’s time to get back into shape! After a long winter full of holiday foods, stressful family get-togethers, and attempting to keep your new year resolutions, I know it can be hard to find that motivation to get back and go to the gym, wake up early to do some yoga, or go out for a jog or walk in the evening. It’s not an easy thing. Getting fit and healthy is a big task, and anyone who tells you otherwise is just blinded by the fact that they’ve already done it. And good for them! They should be proud of themselves, and you should be too – every time you don’t hit snooze on your alarm, walk into the gym before or after work, or choose a salad for lunch instead of the burger and fries you really want, that’s cause to celebrate and give yourself a pat on the back. But for those mornings after late night homework or being up with a crying baby, or those nights after a long day at work when your couch sounds so much better than a treadmill, here are some motivational quotes to help you keep your goals, heath, fitness, and opportunities in mind.
Happy Friday Readers! Here are a few of my current favorites:
Favorite TV Show: 2 Broke Girls This show is hilarious. It’s a bit raunchy and snarky, and usually I don’t go for that kind of humor, but this show does it in a way that doesn’t cross the line (although it definitely walks it). It’s relatable, funny, and definitely one of my favorites. Below is a quick video I found on YouTube of some of the funny moments from the show, just to give you a little taste. You can watch 2 Broke Girls Mondays at 9/8c on CBS.
Favorite Makeup Product: BADgal Lash Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics

Lets talk about wasting energy. I don’t mean electricity or power, I mean your energy. I’m talking about holding on to things that don’t need to matter anymore and wasting energy that you could be using to enjoy life. Holding grudges, seeking revenge, hating people – these are all things that suck the energy right out of us. Why keep hating someone who made a mistake over a year ago? People make mistakes. People mess up, they get confused. But people also grow up, and change, and learn from their mistakes. The person you’re hating is probably not the same person today.
Let go of unnecessary anger. Stop talking bad about people you no longer really know. Give someone a second chance. Wouldn’t you want one if you made a mistake? The world would be such a better place if we could just forgive a little more. And you don’t necessarily need to keep that person in your life, and you don’t need to love them…but you certainly don’t need to waste your time and energy disliking them. So next time you find yourself judging someone on something they’ve done in the past, take a deep breath and let it go. Be the bigger person. It’s not worth your time.
Well it’s Monday night, so I know I’m a little late with today’s post, but here it is.
It’s a new year readers! That means new adventures, new chances, and new perspectives. Take a moment to think of a goal you want to achieve this year (a reasonable one), and feel the excitement as you picture yourself reaching it. Now think: it’s only January. You have an entire year to make some new dreams come true. So think positive and get productive! :)
I apologize for the lack of posts…life got hectic again and a break was necessary. But now I’m back and ready to bring you some fresh inspiration in 2013. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a great start to the new year. I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you guys and hearing your feedback. :)
This week, I want to focus our dose of motivation around believing in yourself and not giving up. This is something that I struggle with on a daily basis. And I think that a lot of others do as well. I feel like if we all just gave ourselves more credit and had more faith in ourselves, the things that seem so difficult might not be as hard as we’re making them out to be. The truth is that we can handle whatever we set our minds and our hearts to. We may not be able to handle everything in the traditional or expected ways, but if we have confidence and use our creativity, we can do a whole lot more with what we have.
So this week as you’re going about your lives, don’t doubt yourself. Don’t give up. Don’t belittle your strength. Have faith in yourself.
It’s October! This is when the leaves start to change, cuddling under blankets becomes a must, and things get spooky, festive, and fun! This is one of my favorite times of the year – it’s a great excuse for parties, baking, and crafting. This year, I’ve become a little obsessed with finding new ways to decorate pumpkins. Of course, I won’t do away with the traditional carving – I just couldn’t not carve a pumpkin, that would be ridiculous! So instead, I intend to buy several pumpkins and choose a few new things to try out on them…which I’m sure is going to drive my boyfriend crazy when he’s down to visit and I drag him to a pumpkin patch to load up on pumpkins (Sorry in advance, Jim).
I’ve linked most of the pictures below to the site where you can find directions on how to create that type of pumpkin. There were a few that I couldn’t find, but they should be similar to the other pictures within that category. Just click on the photos to find out how to execute each design. Happy decorating!
Glitter – You can make glitter polka dots, glitter shapes, glitter covered pumpkins, use colored glitter, and so much more.
Rhinestones – With rhinestones there are endless possibilities. You can vary the shapes, make a design, make abstract art – let your creative side go wild!
Ribbons, Tulle, & Buttons – These embellishments are a very classy way to upgrade your pumpkin decor. My mom always taught me that tulle can be a girl’s best friend when used correctly.
Black Paint – By using black paint, you can give your pumpkins a different vibe. Be creative, make them spooky or goth-esque, ad stripes or dots, or just paint on a jack o’ lantern face!
Paint – Paint in general is a great way to make your pumpkins stand out exactly how you want them too. Use different types of paint, paint on designs, or let your kids go free and make their own pumpkin designs without the mess of pumpkin guts.
Lace – Simple and elegant Use tights or lace fabric. I actually found some Martha Stewart lace pumpkin covers at JoAnn’s Fabrics a few weeks ago and snapped them up to try this year. I looked online and couldn’t find a link, otherwise I would’ve posted it to show you.
Polka Dots – This can be done in many different ways. I’ve already shown you how to do it with glitter and paint up above, but this is creative in a different way.
Chalkboard – Super fun for kids or classrooms. Totally cute and simple.
Sequins – Here’s where your crafty side would need to find some patience. Using sequins may take a good amount of time, depending on your design. But doesn’t it look adorable?
Stencils – This is an easy way to get the design that you want without all of the fuss.
